Ainsworth B.C. Climbing Trip

So, I was thinking May long weekend should be good for our ainsworth climbing/hot springs trip.
http://www.hotnaturally.com/

Here are the tentative dates

May 17, Thursday - leave Calgary after work and drive 7 hours to Ainsworth
May 18, Friday - climb -> hotsprings
May 19, Saturday - ditto
May 20, Sunday - ditto
May 21, Monday - ditto, and then leave ainsworth in the late afternoon for the 7 hour drive back to Calgary.

As Monday is a holiday, if everyone could take Friday off that would mean we would have more time to climb.

If anyone is interested, and depending on who is going, I might want to take more time off and drive up earlier.

So get in shape for a 4-day climbing trip boys and girls and try to get time off :)

Tentative prices

Ainsworth Hot Springs Resort (with view) - $28 per person
http://www.hotnaturally.com/spring_rates.php
Kaslo Hostel (dorm style) - $20 per person
http://www.kaslohostel.com/
Camping - if I remember correctly it's $20 per site ...... gotta check up on this though, will do later

NWT or Yukon Trip

Looks like the best time to go is January to March, so we just missed it for this year. Another thing to put on the calender for next year though :)

If we get our skills up, perhaps we can do the chilkoot trail in the spring season, which will require avalanch preparedness, and winter camping experience ...... no more camping next to the highway :)

Ski Trip Planning

Mike has offered to plan this one, so I'll let him take over it.

The only thing is that Janice can't snowboard as she is still broken until April 2nd, so unless Mike and Kim are willing to wait till then, or go again in April, Janice won't make it.

Planning details for winter camping/ice climbing

Ivo said

"Besides next weekend, I'm free on all the remaining ones. The camping/ice-climbing trip can be done in one of the following locations, depending on snow and ice conditions:K-country - there's a bunch of nice and easy climbs in the immediate surrounding of the Mt Kidd camping ground Banff - again, relatively close to town there are a couple of good places + Lake Louise which has few nice and not so easy climbsYoho - few nice climbs on the Yoho valley road going to Takakkaw fallsIcefields parkway - if everything else is not acceptable - plenty of climbs and snow, as well as camping grounds along the road so we can pick one easily Have a good one and let me know where and when the majority wants to go climbing."

Date - Tentatively set for the weekend of March 17

Please post your comment to indicate your interest and availability.
